ScanToVerify 3.0

Overview:

This integrated solution is designed to meet all EDI, shipping, labeling and scanning requirements.  OEM industries include Automotive, Electronics, Heavy Duty, Medical, Appliance, and Defense. Acting as your Customer Service, Shipping Dock, and EDI software, it runs entirely on remote secure servers.

The result:  A system implemented quickly with minimal initial and ongoing infrastructure expenses.  It ensures accurate shipments generated automatically from actual customer orders.  Labels are printed and ASNs (advanced shipment notifications) are generated to specific customer requirements.

   One Page System Architecture Schematic

Avenue Systems ScanToVerify is designed to meet all of your customers' EDI, bar-code labeling and scanning requirements.  Simple, well-defined interfaces allow it to integrate with any ERP solution.

EDI:

EDI Choices:  Use your choice of EDI Software platform.  Additionally,  ScanToVerify has been developed to work closely with EDI data and online web forms provided by iConnect Corporation's iExchangeweb, which also serves as your  sole Value Added Network (VAN).  iConnect will work closely with your customers and their VANs or proprietary web portals  to obtain your data and deliver it to ScanToVerify in its customer neutral formats.   iConnect can also provide a secure web portal for your non-EDI customers to enter their own orders, review available inventory, and check shipment status.

Customer Service and Shipping functions are performed using a web-based database, and the intuitively simple ScanToVerify solution.

ScanToVerify: Demand Management

Inbound EDI and web-portal orders and schedules are loaded into the ScanToVerify database  Orders may also be entered or modified on-line.  Pick Lists and Customer shipments are automatically generated based on these customer requirements.

Setup of new electronic trading partners and part-numbers is a snap!

Customer Container Labeling:

Container labels are automatically generated in one of two ways.

Centrally for bulk printing or prototype and non-standard quantities. Also, for those sites not yet ready for line-side labeling.

Lineside Labeling, for generation of customer-specific container labels on the factory floor.

Correct product identification is achieved and verified through the use of our Lineside labeling module.

ScanToVerify:  Wireless Shipping

Shipments are prepared and pick lists are generated automatically based on customer ordering documents, which may be overridden based on available inventory, customer phone calls, etc.

The shipment is then thoroughly scanned, followed by an automated reconciliation performed in the shipping office.   This reconciliation verifies that customer requirements have not changed.  It fully edits the shipment to ensure ASN acceptance.

All customer required forms and master labels, as well as the ASN, are generated from this base of verified data.  All of this is done with minimal data entry on the part of shipping personnel. Often just the conveyance information (trailer or PRO number) is keyed.

Plant Infrastructure Requirements:

1) Internet access in Shipping and Customer Service for IP/FTP .   2) 80211b/g wireless scanning terminals running VT terminal emulation.  3) Zebra ZPL thermal transfer barcode printers in Shipping and in Production or Packaging, wherever customer containers are filled.  4) Zebra ZPL/RFID printers, for customers with RFID requirements.

NEW:  ScanToVerify Wireless Inventory Tracking

This new ScanToVerify consulting solution captures fast-paced movement of inventory   By introducing simple wireless scanning functions, it:

  1. Increases inventory accuracy, visibility, and timeliness . . on the factory floor, in storage, and at outside processors.

  2. Enforces introduction of correct components to production operations.

  3. Captures time-based traceability data to reduce the scope and cost of product recalls.

It then transmit this valuable information to your inventory control and scheduling software.  Just imagine, accurate inventories in your ERP system!

How it Works:

  1. Customer Releases and orders are obtained  then automatically transmitted  to the ScanToVerify database.

  2. Customer demand is interfaced into your ERP system for MRP planning and reporting.

  3. Labels, picklists, and shipping documents are generated from this base of customer data.

  4. Shipments are staged, then wifi scanned by your Shipping Dept.

  5. ASNs are transmitted through the web to iExchangeweb at the push of a button in your Shipping Dept., and then immediately transmitted to your customer by iExchangeweb.

  6. ASN transmission and acceptance status may be monitored from any web enabled PC.

  7. Shipment information is interfaced into your ERP solution for invoicing, inventory transactions, and A/R posting.

Benefits:

  • Honda Approved as a Standard Software Provider for EDI, Barcode Labeling, Scanning, and Shipping.  Has passed several Ford Motor Quality audits.

  • No internal EDI Mapping or translation software (and regular updates and patches) required.

  • Reduced shipment errors and incorrectly labeled/misidentified parts.  Full editing of the ASN before transmittal.

  • Works hand-in-glove with any ERP Software.  It is typically a fairly moderate IT project to interface open orders and shipments.  Invoicing and A/R setup is still done in your ERP or Accounting software.

    Management Summary

Greatly reduces cost and risk when changing ERP software, since ScanToVerify will transition easily to the new solution, keeping all Shipping and Customer procedures and label formats the same.
